Illustrations Page - Number 2
The aim of this page is to illustrate what I mean by saying that
somebody appears to have added verses to Luke's Gospel by using
John's Gospel as a source.
Here I have underlined the word for linen clothes which is used in Luke 23. Please note that it is not the word for linen clothes which appears in Luke 24:12. I have underlined the words in Luke 24 which also appear in John 20:5, but not elsewhere in Luke.
Here I have underlined the word for linen clothes which is used in Luke 23:53 (sindoni). Please note that it is not the word for linen clothes which appears in Luke 24:12. (othonia) I have underlined the words in Luke 24 which also appear in John 20:5, but not elsewhere in Luke.
Below there is a picture of John 20:5-7. Note that not only is the story of Peter running to the tomb in Luke 24:12 very similar to the story in John 20:5, but many of the words are identical. These words are not used elsewhere in Luke. It should be remembered that the whole of this story from Luke is missing from some very early manuscripts.
What more proof is needed that the text of Luke's Gospel has been
changed?
